(WRC.com, 30/8/2013) MADS Ostberg will squeeze in some training this weekend before Coates Hire Rally Australia with an outing on home ground.
Ostberg and co-driver Jonas Andersson will drive a Ford Fiesta RS WRC at the penultimate round of the Norwegian Championship, Rally Telemark, on Saturday.
Compared to the upcoming round on the Coffs Coast, Telemark is a tiddler, with just 10 gravel stages and 69 kilometres.
Ostberg won the event in 2012 and is aiming for another win this year.
Meanwhile, other WRC stars, including two champions, will be in action at a round of the European Rallycross Championship in France.
Petter Solberg will go head-to-head with reigning champion Sebastien Loeb, who is a wildcard entry for the race at the Loheac circuit in Brittany.
Both will drive 600bhp Citroen DS3 SuperCars – Solberg the self-run example he is using in his 2013 campaign, with Loeb in a similar car run by Hervé “Knapick” Lemonnier.
Another WRC star at Loheac is Northern Irishman Kris Meeke. The Citroen WRC ace – also preparing for Coates Hire Rally Australia – will make his debut at the wheel of a Peugeot 208 for Albatec Racing.
