Information

The cars approach at high speed on tarmac then turn left on Bruxner Park Road. You can expect fast action especially if the 4th place is only seconds away from the podium in the afternoon. This stage can set up a win for the upcoming power stage so anything can happen!

QUINNY’S TIPS

Everyone is planning their finish but as we have seen this year especially at Sardegna, it’s not all over till the red control board. Expect a few hard chargers to build a gap for the power stage. I would! Right up the gravel after the bridge is exciting!

RALLY AUSTRALIA EXPERT PHOTO TIPS

This is a great spot to miss the crowds at Wedding Bells. The cars are on tarmac and select your spot to take advantage of the morning light. Fast shutter speeds show speed well here. Move around and don’t take all your pictures from one spot otherwise all your shots end up one dimensional. Good shots under the trees as the cars approach.

ACCESSIBILITY

Accessible point, on bitumen road, parking reserved, with amenities.

HOW TO GET THERE FROM:

Big Banana, Pacific Hwy, Coffs Harbour

TO:

Cnr Mt Coramba Forest and Bruxner Park Roads, Central Bucca

TRAVEL TIME:

15 Minutes under normal conditions (eg. no roadworks or rally traffic) However, allow extra of time for travel as road use in the area will be. These instructions were correct at the time of planning. However, road works could change the route to be taken. Follow the Rally Australia direction signs to the spectator point. Drive safely and to the advised speed limits. Police enforcement will be present.

Information

The Blueberry point is popular as it offers two clear spectating areas. The cars come over a crest down over a creek crossing and come toward spectators, turning left up over the hill sliding down to another creek crossing. In 2017, a number of cars stopped at the creek. You can expect fast action as team’s jostle for a podium place. Only seconds will separate the 1st to 3rd place getters. Get set for some last-ditch speed to claim valuable points.

QUINNY’S TIPS

“In the old days my old man had a rubber glove over the old RX-2’s distributor cap so water could not stop the engine. Might need to lend it to a few this year! Drivers need to be careful as the first creek crossing can damage suspensions and the second one can drown the electrics.”

RALLY AUSTRALIA EXPERT PHOTO TIPS

This is one of the best spectator points, with multiple shot taking possibilities. Longer lenses for the creek crossing but it can be a bit dark first up so use a higher ISO. Use a wide angle for a pan shot as the cars climb up to the spectator point and shoot low to get the cars sliding around the right hander to the creek.

ACCESSIBILITY

Parking in grass area, entry through paddock from gravel road. Assisted access will be required. Vehicle access not good for any lowered vehicles, need to be able to drive over speed bumps with ease.

HOW TO GET THERE FROM:

Big Banana, Pacific Hwy, Coffs Harbour

TO:

Unnamed Rd off Mardells Rd, Bucca NSW

TRAVEL TIME:

25 Minutes under normal conditions (eg. no roadworks or rally traffic) However allow extra of time for travel as road use in the area will be heavy. The access road is GRAVEL and there are tow creek crossings and speed bumps. NOT suited to lowered cars.

Information

The final countdown – the last stage in the 2018 World Rally Championship.

The NSW Rally Village steps up to a new level this year with the cars travelling in the reverse direction. Spectators will be treated to seeing cars jump over the crest at the top of the spectating area and this jump is the equal to Rally Finland and Rally Portugal’s famous jumps. The cars will jump at over 160kph, land and set up for the left 5 and right 4 at top speed before a short straight then it’s a turn left at T under the arch to the finish.

This stage after lunch is the televised ‘Power” stage and WRC TV will cover all the action to a huge world audience live. The big screens will show the action and our expert commentators will guide you through the day. The cars will finish right at the Rally Village and you can join in to celebrate the winners of Kennards Hire Rally Australia.

QUINNY’S TIPS

“The NSW Forest Rally village is epic and as a Coffs Harbour local I personally invite you to come and see why rally drivers are the best drivers in the world. You will see high speed jumps, high speed slides and a water crossing. Cheer on all of our WRC and Aussie rally stars. Bring the family for the best day out in Coffs! The jump is massive”

RALLY AUSTRALIA EXPERT PHOTO TIPS

This is the best spectator points in Australia with the best jump and its up there with the best in world, with multiple shot taking possibilities. Longer lenses for the jump are ideal, but any lens is going to work here. Classic sideways shots half way to the jump are easy and make sure you use high shutter speeds and take a spare SD card and spare battery!  Share your best on our social pages #rallyaustralia
