LOCAL ace Nathan Quinn will carry new Kennards Hire Rally Australia livery on his familiar Mitsubishi Lancer Evo 9 in the third round of the CAMS Australian Rally Championship at the National Capital Rally in Canberra this weekend.
Quinn’s Lancer Evo 9 has been given all-over branding for Rally Australia in a gesture from the WRC event to help him stay in the national championship. The rally also supported Quinn’s entry for Canberra.
After winning the New South Wales Championship at Kennards Hire Rally Australia last year, he now leads the 2017 national standings but has been short of funds to continue the fight.
The Rally Australia livery, replacing the Coffs Coast Rally Team design used for several seasons, will help promote the WRC event to potential competitors and fans. An incentive program called the Kennards Hire Cup will offer State-level entrants a chance to win $5000 prize money at Rally Australia on 16-19 November.
Rally Australia will include the final round of the CAMS ARC.
Quinn distinguished himself as one of Australia’s fastest young drivers when he finished eighth outright in the 2013 Rally Australia at the wheel of an Italian-run Mini WRC car. His aim is to compete again at WRC level again this year.
