THIS is the powerful new look of M-Sport’s Ford Fiesta RS WRC that fans will see when Mikko Hirvonen, Elfyn Evans and Robert Kubica lead the Blue Oval charge at Coates Hire Rally Australia in 44 days’ time.
The car has new front-end styling, bringing it in line with the latest Ford Fiesta ST road car, already on sale in Australia.
The changes include modifications to the sump guard and ducting for the radiator and intercooler, while the more visible elements are limited to a new front bumper and bonnet.
The new look will debut on Neste Oil Rally Finland next weekend.
While the changes will not provide a performance advantage, they underline the continuing bond between M-Sport and Ford.
“We continue to enjoy a strong working relationship with the Ford Motor Company and their technical support has been invaluable in the creation of our award-winning range of Ford Fiesta rally cars,” M-Sport boss Malcolm Wilson said.
“We’ve been keen to see the new-look Fiesta RS WRC on the stages for some time now and I am happy to announce that that time has come.”
M-Sport’s R5 version of the Fiesta has used the new-look nose since it was introduced at Rally Finland in 2013.
