FANS of the FIA World Rally Championship can vote for the winners of prestigious new awards to be presented at the inaugural WRC end-of-season Gala hosted in Sydney by Rally Australia on Monday 21 November.
On-line polling will start progressively from Monday 7 November for six awards and close on Wednesday 16 November, on the eve of the 2016 WRC closing round at Kennards Hire Rally Australia on the Coffs Coast.
A further 10 awards will be chosen by expert panels and all will be highlights of a black-tie night attended by drivers, co-drivers, team bosses and championship officials to celebrate a successful WRC season.
Organised by Rally Australia and WRC Promoter, the Gala will welcome 200 guests at the Museum of Contemporary Art, across the water from the Opera House.
Proceedings will be hosted by Channel Nine Today Show sports presenter Tim Gilbert. A 30-minute highlights programme will be available for television broadcast in early December.
The 10 panel-judged awards will be presented in categories including Most Power Stage Points, Most Stage Wins, the Certina Timing Feat Award and Best News Story of the Year.
WRC will ask fans to vote on WRC.com on nominees in the following categories:
• Driver of the Year
• Co-driver of the Year
• DJI Aerial Award
• WRC 6 Livery of the Year
• Michelin Magic Moment
• Lexar Photograph of the Year
