The Pedders Suspension Coffs Coast 400 is pleased to announce today they are partnering with local charity Adele Dundas Inc (Adele) for the fourth round of the Australian Off Road Championship, an off road race that will take place in the forests around Bucca in NSW over the weekend of the 13th and 14th of September.
Forming part of the Rally Australia motorsport extravaganza, the off road event will see competitors and their extreme vehicles converge on Coffs Harbour from all corners of Australia in their chase for Australian Off Road Championship points. The competitors will race 8 laps of an approximately 50km course that will test their personal stamina as well as the durability of the vehicles.
Adele is a local not for profit rehabilitation centre neighbouring the Pedders Suspension Coffs Coast 400 start and finish venue. The participation from the team at Adele will take many forms, from assisting with the development and set up of infrastructure in the months leading up to the event to overseeing the spectator facilities come race weekend.
“To have the support of an organisation like Adele is a coup for the event” said Murray Rogers, Clerk of the Course for the Pedders Suspension Coffs Coast 400. “Not only will they provide valuable man power, equipment and expertise in the preparation stages, their presence on race weekend will enable us to better deploy our motorsport volunteers.”
Richard Allaway, Adele’s Senior Case Manager explained “we’ve offered our assistance to the event as we see it as a positive building exercise for our clients. Adele believes in encouraging community participation by supporting initiatives like the off road event.”
Adele’s neighbouring rehabilitation centre at Bucca is revolutionary in their approach to rehab. The 95ha property has been purposefully selected and designed as a sustainable working farm to provide practical opportunities for client jobs and skills training.
In close collaboration with Adele’s holistic approach to recovery, the property provides client involvement in the management of the property and broad ranging skills development and training in agricultural/horticultural, landscape, farm machinery and related disciplines.
The property was chosen for its remote as well as serene characteristics and consists of beautiful grazing land between the gallery forest along the banks of the river and the escarpment forest behind.
