The FIA World Rally Championship’s youngest driver, Kalle Roveranperá, 17, will contest next season’s WRC2 series in a factory-run Skoda Fabia R5.
The Finn, who drove an M-Sport Ford Fiesta R5 and won the WRC2 category at the recent Kennards Hire Rally Australia, will be part of the Czech Republic maker’s youngest-ever WRC2 squad alongside Ole Christian Veiby and Juuso Nordgren, both 21.
Announcing its 2018 plans, Skoda said 2017 was the most successful motorsport season in its 116-year history, with Pontus Tidemand taking the WRC2 title, Gaurav Gill the Asia Pacific Rally Championship and Jan Kopecký the Czech national series, among many achievements for the Fabia R5.
Skoda will be back in action to Rallye Monte-Carlo, the opening round of the 2018 WRC on 25-28 January.
