(12/9/2013) LOCAL Coffs Harbour driver Nathan Quinn has made his debut in a World Rally Car, taking his Motorsport Italia MINI Countryman John Cooper Works WRC on to the ARMOR ALL Super Special stage tonight.
Quinn starts the first full day of competition tomorrow 10th outright, after being sent out first on the road by his rivals who picked superior starting positions in the post-Qualifying starting order selection held on stage at the Coates Hire Rally Show and Ceremonial Start this afternoon.
Quinn finished 10th on SS1 and 9th on SS2 – ahead of Citroen’s Khalid Al Qassimi – to be 10th in the overnight standings, 10.3 sec behind leader Andreas Mikkelsen.
